Santola Bar Cafe @ Kolombong Industrial

Santola Bar Café

We were cacthing up for a good place to sit and have a good chat. Thanks to one of our girlfriends post her check in, so we decidedto give it a ‘explore race’ with it.

They say they serve the best coffee...I do admit, the coffee was not too bad.

He  ordered their Iced Long Black while I tried out their Iced Santola Au Lait. Au Lait...Best of both worlds in a glass - a shoot of expresso and fresh milk. I find that soft foam on the long black is a bit too heavy and the coffee flavour was a tad weak.

Service was pretty good; the staff were friendly and quite attentive. Next time, I think I’ll schedule my meetings here instead of having them at Dome/Coffee Bean.

We decide to get something to munch on while we chat/people watch.

The yogurt is definately on our menu for our next visit. Wondering how would it taste - coffee yogurt...

Final verdict? Should go and try out the coffee while not forgetting snack up their waffles, cakes, spaghetti  etc. They also have their signature Affogato C.C.C (triple Cs – stands for chocolates!!!) so choco fans out there…

Ambiance: 7/10 (usually the owner is there)
Price: $$ (caters office workers…so price is considerably affordable)
Food: 8/10
Verdict: Good place for brunch-ing during holidays and great place for meetings with clients
Address:
29, Jalan Kilang, SEDCO Industrial Estate,

Moo Cow Yogurt Ice Cream @ Lintas

Moo Cow 15th Branch – 1st in Sabah

I made a invisible note –to visit this place- when I was driving pass and saw Moo Cow Yogurt Ice Cream is opening in Lintas.

Well the icecream is not exactly cheap or what not but it was worth a try unless you travel all the way to Mid Valley Megamall PJ.

We decide to try their seasonal Prune Yogurt Icecream. Yumm yumm...

There's few toppings to choose from. Its something original and something different from usual Tutti Frutti. We choosed to top with Oreo biscuits on our prune icecream as recommended by the staffs. Its real good...

Final verdict? Go and visit their new outlet in Lintas Plaza, Kota Kinabalu for your moolicious yogurt treat! Its one of the best yogurt icecream in Sabah.

Ambiance: 7/10 (Quite - Air con with 3 tables with stools and open air seating)
Price: $$$ (just for a small cup of yogurt icecream)
Food: 8/10
Verdict: Worth trying if you had tried too much of grass jelly in Lintas and wish for a change
Address:
Moo Cow Yogurt Icecream
Lot 100, Ground Floor,
Lintas Plaza, Phase 2B,
Jalan Lintas Kota Kinabalu.

Kedai Kopi Wang City @ Iramanis

Kedai Kopi Wang City @ Iramanis

We were heading towards Iramanis area that morning. We decide to stop by Kedai Kopi Wang City for their regular bittergourd soup fish noodles 苦瓜.Healthy Chinese style bitter gourd (bitter melon) soup – very healthy and has cooling properties.Usually they will have a few regulars there for breakfast or lunch.
Mee sup campur campur
The soup was pretty decent. The bitterness was just nice to give a tinge taste to the soup.  For those who are not a fan of bitter guard, they also have salted vegetable soup 咸菜豆腐汤 and usual clear broth 清汤.  We both ordered bitter guard soup to clear clear heat. You can also choose dry noodle and its 'stuff'. They have fish slices, fish paste, minced meat, beancurd skin 腐皮 etc.
Springy noodle RM6 per bowl

The fried fish slice
They do have other choices and recently they introduce new items on their menu - Taiwan Mincedpork Rice! Has yet try it...

Final verdict? Might not be something you would purposely drive down for but worth trying if you happen to be around that area. If you would like to try other than the Famous Kedai Kopi Kwang Tung Zhai 广东子烤肉 nearby.

Ambiance: 5/10 (open air)
Price: $$ (I guess its standard price around KK)
Food: 7/10
Verdict: Worth trying if you crave for bitter guard soup.
